Supercharging your Partner Ecosystem with Lightning Partner Community

You can build a community using clicks instead of codes. Community Builder allows us to do almost anything Lightning Experience Builder can do. Community Builder for Salesforce Lightning – A game-changer. In addition to their ability to customize, Salesforce communities are designed to work with most businesses.

Community Builder now offers the following key feature –

Enhanced Personalization: Within the Navigation Menu, Tile Menu, and CMS Collection components, you can now dictate what the user sees. Before, you could simply define which part a user sees, but now you can also adjust the content. This is like what we were able to do previously for page variations, branding sets, and components. It’s great to see the increased adaptability. You can control Tab Visibility based on Profile with this feature

This is another way to get full Add your own forms to your community if the standard forms are not enough. It is important not to add Lightning components just because you can if they are fine.

Improved Page Management: With Summer 20, the Community Pages menu has been upgraded to make it easier to navigate to your pages. The search results now let you explore or edit any page directly from the results by searching directly for it in the folder. When you click on a page, you can now edit its properties directly. This is a great time saver, especially if you have a large community with a lot of pages.

Flexible Layouts for Pages: Creating highly customized pages for Communities is now easier with Community Builder’s flexible layouts. The number of sections and width of the sections can be controlled. Good background images and color can improve a community. Besides being able to control the layout of pages, we can also control the maximum width of pages. Different themes can have different page widths and we can override those page widths.

How we can change the layout:

  1. Component Modification: Drag the handles between columns to change the column size. Using the Section Style options, you can change the images, colors, and widths of the content, as well as the height of the section. Add sections using the + icon. There are 12 columns per section(maximum)
  2. New Page Creation: In Community Builder, open the Pages menu in the top toolbar. Choose New Page | Standard Page. Then, choose Flexible Layout and begin designing your page by adding sections and customising it to your specifications. During the process of creating the Page Variation for a Community Page, select Flexible Layout from the Layout drop-down menu. Only when a Page is created can Flexible Layout be set.

Targeting Audiences: By incorporating Audience Targeting into our system, we can dynamically show content to users based on their characteristics. Page Variation and Audiences can also be combined to achieve Page Layout Assignment.

A specific audience can be assigned to a page variation to target a specific group of users. Basic Criteria include:

  • Domain
  • Location
  • Permission
  • Profile
  • User Object

Record Type can also be included in Advanced Criteria. Create basic or advanced rules by selecting one or more criteria types. It is also possible to apply custom logic.

Conclusion
